Mateo Servent

Hello! I am a Predoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins University and the United Programs for Political Economy Research network and a Research Assistant at El COLMEX. I hold an MSc in Political Science from CIDE and earned my BA from UNC in Argentina. My master’s and bachelor’s thesis were supervised by Prof. Ernesto Calvo, Director of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Computational Social Science.

Previously, I was a research assistant at the UNDP Accelerator Lab, and a visiting student at the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science at Freie Universität Berlin (2022) and the Department of Economics at Universidad de San Andres (2023).

My research interests are computational social science and comparative political behavior. I am broadly focused on how media, platforms, and technology transform politics.
